Fabric Wall Stickers Guide and FAQs

Welcome to our Fabric Wall Stickers Guide & FAQs. Here you’ll find answers to common questions about our removable fabric wall stickers, including application, textured walls, samples and more.

Fabric wall stickers work best on smooth painted surfaces, particularly matte or eggshell finishes. Light wall texture is generally suitable, although the texture may be visible through the sticker. Very textured, rough, or bumpy walls may affect adhesion as the sticker may not make full contact with the surface. If you’re unsure whether your wall is suitable, please contact us before ordering and we’ll be happy to help. You’re also welcome to contact us to request a sample to test your wall first.

Our fabric wall stickers can be applied to many surfaces and are designed to be repositionable, reusable, and removable without leaving sticky marks or damaging the wall. If you’ve just painted the walls, we recommend waiting 2-3 weeks to avoid any damage to the paint. If you are using the stickers on delicate surfaces such as wallpaper or newly painted surfaces, we recommend testing on a small area first.

Coverage will vary depending on the design you choose and how you space the stickers on the wall. As a general guide, for most of our designs we recommend two 35 x 50 cm sheets per 3 m² of wall, for spacing similar to our photos. Spacing the stickers further apart will cover a larger area, while placing them closer together creates a fuller look but covers less wall space. If you’re unsure how many sheets you’ll need, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Ensure your walls are clean and dry before applying. Simply peel the stickers from the backing sheet, position them on the wall and gently but firmly smooth them down, paying particular attention to the edges to ensure good adhesion. Keep the backing sheet safe so you can easily remove, store and reuse your stickers.

Our fabric wall stickers are water resistant but not fully waterproof. They can cope with the occasional splash, but we don’t recommend using them in bathrooms or other areas with high levels of moisture or steam.

Our wall stickers are made from a premium woven polyester fabric with a gentle adhesive backing. Unlike traditional vinyl stickers, the fabric is non-tearing, repositionable and reusable, allowing you to move and reapply the stickers without leaving sticky residue behind. The material is PVC-free and printed using eco-friendly inks, making it a lovely choice for children’s bedrooms, nurseries and playrooms.

Yes. We offer samples so that you can test our fabric wall stickers on your wall before placing an order, particularly if you have textured walls or recently painted surfaces. We don’t charge for the sample stickers themselves. For customers outside the UK, we simply ask that the international postage cost is covered. Send us a message via one of our product pages or email us at support@kidofthevillage.co.uk and we’ll be happy to arrange a sample for you.

If your wall stickers are peeling, first make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust or residue. We recommend gently wiping the area with a damp cloth and allowing it to dry fully before reapplying the stickers. If your walls have been painted recently, please allow at least 2–3 weeks for the paint to fully cure before applying the stickers. Gently warming the stickers with a hairdryer on a low setting can also help improve adhesion. If you’re experiencing any issues, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
